Eagle House

Eagle House was founded in Wimbledon in 1820 and today it is a thriving coeducational day and boarding school in Sandhurst. Eagle House became part of Wellington College in 1968 and the two schools are closely linked in many ways. Each year 20-30 pupils move onto Wellington and all Eagle House children benefit from the close interaction with the Wellington Family, whether it be shared teaching, music and drama opportunities, leadership activities or sporting events.

Learning for Life is at the heart of Eagle House and children are given the best opportunities to learn and develop in a superb setting with excellent facilities. The school prides itself on all the opportunities that children are given and the school buzzes with activity all day long. Academics are an essential part of the school’s remit and Eagle House children are encouraged to be independent thinkers and confident learners. Learning for Life Plus is a broad and relevant PHSE scheme that encourages children to look beyond their experiences and be wiser of the world around them. Pastoral care is at the core of the school and all teachers are tutors to a small number of children. All children are supported and guided by their tutors who also work closely with parents.

Children are bright and engaged in the Golden Eagle programme which promotes independence and leadership by providing a range of exciting activities and experiences. Sport, too, is at the heart of each day, encouraging children to be active and determined. The Arts flourish and there are many children who learn musical instruments, sing in choirs, act on stage and paint and create using a variety of media. There is a strong focus on performance and creativity at Eagle House as this is essential to building confidence and inspiring success.
