Eagle House: “Remember The Pandemic Will End”
Service is a vitally important part of life at Eagle House. It is vital for children in our care to understand how privileged they are and to give back to their local community. In normal times, Eagle House kids would visit care homes, work in charity shops, wash cars, tidy church ground and litter pick on the common.
Lockdown has renewed our determination to make service a fundamental part of life at Eagle House and challenged us to be even more thoughtful about our service provision. This term, at the end of every week, we have thought how we can put a smile on people’s faces from home. All the kids from Year 5-8 have written letters to residents in local care homes, left baked goodies on their neighbours’ doorsteps, ordered our Mums to put their feet up while we do the household chores and litter picked around local communities. We think these initiatives have made a tangible difference to those around us; a real public good.
