Mike Gatting, famous English cricketer
We are very excited to announce that next week Wellington College Bangkok will welcome the famous England cricketer, Mike Gatting.
On Thursday 8 June, Mike will meet with our Master, Chris Nicholls, our Bursar, Peter Church and Iain Henderson, Deputy Head (Educational Partnerships and Developments) from our founding school, The Wellington College in the UK. Iain will be reliving his memories of playing opposite Mike in his younger days!
There will be a question and answer session about his career experiences which will be available on video afterwards. We will also be hosting a Festival of Cricket in the afternoon with several visiting schools including Rugby, Denla, Bangkok Patana and Regents and, of course, three teams of our own passionate young cricketers – the Cheetahs, the Werewolves and the Dukes. Cricket is a growing sport at Wellington and this is a fantastic boost to our year in sport. Parents – you are very welcome to join the Festival to cheer us on!
