WELLINGTON COLLEGE BANGKOK: GOLFERS SHINE AT FALDO SERIES

The Faldo series is a leading event across the world for identifying future golfing talent. It is named after the series creator, and former world number 1 Nick Faldo, and organised by his son Matthew who is himself an Old Wellingtonian. The 3 Thai events are hosted by WCI Bangkok, highlighting both the depth of Thai talent, and the serious nature of golf at Wellington.

Wellington had 6 golfers competing in the recent first event U11 and U13 categories, taking home first place in U11 girls, and third in both U11 boys and U13 girls. The standard in all events was of the highest order, with undoubted future Asian, European and US PGA stars on show. Wellington started 9th in the ratings, but came out in an impressive 5th.

WCI Bangkok continues to invest heavily in the resources and facilities for golf, with a state of the art swing room, golf course located right next to our school, our partnership with Fore Management, and a full time British PGA professional based at Wellington. As one of our 5 focus sports, we are starting to see the benefit of this investment with growing numbers of players in the various squads and excellent results on the course. In the proud tradition of Wellington College in the UK, Wellington College Bangkok is developing one of the most exciting Golf Programmes for junior golfers in Thailand.
