Wellington College International Pune Welcomes an Auspicious Beginning: Bhumi Poojan

We are glad to share the highlights of Bhumi Pooja at the Wellington College International Pune, school site.

Bhumi pooja / pujan is a Hindu ritual performed in honour of Goddess Bhoomi and Vaastu Purush (the deity of directions), before beginning the construction of a new property. The five elements of nature are also worshipped during the Bhumi pooja. Bhumi means Mother Earth.

Mantras are chanted and offerings made, to each deity. A pit is dug and the first brick is laid in it.

The ritual honours for the Bhumi Pooja were completed on 4^th Mar 2022. We are grateful to all our stakeholders and well-wishers who bestowed their faith and support on this momentous occasion.
